How we match, rank and make money

What we compare

20 robot vacuums from Roborock, Dreame, Ecovacs, eufy and 15 robot mowers from Mammotion, Segway Navimow, eufy, Ecovacs, Dreame, Husqvarna, as sold in Australia on 3 October 2026. Prices come from each maker’s own Australian store, including GST. Roborock’s Australian site sells nothing itself, so its prices come from Roborock Store ANZ, a retailer Roborock lists as authorised. Ecovacs styles its name ECOVACS; we write Ecovacs.

We compare only the 35 robots listed here, not the whole market. Other products may be available that suit you better.

Navimow’s Australian site shows prices but takes no orders, so its mowers appear in tables and near misses but never as a fit. Tech Sales Online, an authorised Roborock and Ecovacs retailer, showed every robot vacuum sold out when we checked, so we don’t link to it.

How the vacuum matcher decides

No regulator or standard defines a class of robot vacuum, so these rules are ours. Each turns something about your home into a feature the robot must publish. A figure the maker doesn’t publish never counts as met, and we say which figure is missing.

Vacuum matcher rules

Your homeThe robot needs
Mostly hard floorsA spinning or roller mop that the dock washes, and warm-air drying
Hard floors with rugsA washed spinning or roller mop that lifts at least 10 mm or comes off
Mostly carpetNo mop, or one that comes off or lifts at least 20 mm; suction of 10,000 Pa or more
Any petA self-emptying dock, an anti-tangle main brush and camera obstacle avoidance
Heavy sheddersAs for any pet, plus suction of 10,000 Pa or more
Over 100 m²A self-emptying dock
Over 200 m²A published run time of 180 minutes or more
Two or more storeysSaves at least one floor map per storey, as published

Suction is each maker’s own figure from its own test, and none publishes a method, so we use it only as a floor, never to rank. We count camera avoidance when the maker says its obstacle system uses an RGB or AI camera; laser and structured-light systems detect obstacles without recognising them.

How the mower matcher decides

A mower fits when its maker rates it for at least your lawn area and your steepest slope. Slopes published in degrees are converted to percent (rise over run), and where a maker’s pages disagree we use the lower figure. Separate lawns need published multi-zone mapping, wire-free means no boundary wire, and tree cover needs a camera or LiDAR, because satellite positioning drops out under canopy. A lawn above 80% of a mower's rated area is flagged as a tight fit.

eufy’s own Australian guide to slope limits explains percent and degrees, and its product page gives one mower’s limit both ways. (eufy AU, checked )

How we rank

Robot Match ranks providers by whether each model meets every requirement your home or lawn sets, then price, cheapest first. Commission is never an input: a provider that pays us is ranked exactly where it would be if it paid nothing, and providers that pay nothing are still included when they fit.

Models that miss a requirement are listed after the fits, fewest misses first, with what each lacks. Best-for pages and face-off verdicts come from the same rules. Commission plays no part in any of it.

How we make money

Robot Match is free to use because some providers pay us a commission when you click through to them and sign up or buy. It costs you nothing extra. Commission never changes which providers we include, the order we list them in, or what we say about them.

Today no store pays us: we have applied to no programme yet, and every link goes to the store’s plain product page. When a programme approves us, a note will sit right beside each link that can earn us money. Links go through an address on this site starting with /go/, so we can switch them in one place.

How we check facts

Every price and spec links to the page it came from with the date we read it. We copy figures from the maker’s Australian pages first, then its global pages or Australian manual, and we note on the model page wherever a maker’s own pages contradict each other. We have not tested these robots ourselves, and nothing on the site says or implies we have. If you find something out of date, email hello@robotmatch.com.au.
