The cheapest model that meets every requirement
Roborock Qrevo L, $699
If your home isn’t the one this list assumes, the answer changes: change it in the matcher.
A big floor plan tests the parts of a robot a small flat never reaches: the battery, the bin and the dock. The case below is a single-storey house well over 200 m², with hard floors, a few rugs and no pets.
Past that size we ask for a published run time of 180 minutes or more, so the robot can finish in one pass instead of breaking off halfway to recharge.
What it has to have
- Spinning or roller mop the dock washes. Hard floors get mopped on every run, so the mop needs scrubbing action and a dock that rinses it between rooms.
- Mop lifts 10 mm or comes off. Rugs stay dry when the mop lifts clear of the pile or is left at the dock.
- Dock empties the bin. Over 100 m² a robot's onboard bin fills before the house is done.
- Run time of 180 minutes or more. Over 200 m² a long battery finishes in one run instead of stopping to recharge midway.

How to choose
Read the run time carefully. Makers quote their longest mode, usually quiet vacuuming with the mop off, and several robots here publish no run time at all; the matcher leaves those out rather than guess. Among the ones that do, Ecovacs's Deebot T80 Omni quotes 297 minutes, comfortably past the bar.
Then look at the dock. Dreame rates the bag on its L40 Ultra VE for up to 100 days, and Roborock's docks quote around two months. We found no plumbed dock sold in Australia for these models, so the clean-water tank still needs filling by hand.

Questions
Does a bigger home need more suction?
Not by itself. Floor area changes how long the robot has to run and how much dust it collects, not how hard it has to pull, so the matcher raises the bar on run time and the dock and keeps its suction floor of 10,000 Pa for carpet and heavy shedders.
What if the house is on two levels?
Then the robot needs a map of each floor, and fewer makers publish that count than you'd expect. Set the storeys in the matcher to see which do.
