How we pick the pairs
A face-off only makes sense between robots doing the same job. Vacuum pairs share a mop design, roller against roller or spinning pads against spinning pads, and usually sit within a few hundred dollars of each other. Mower pairs are rated for a similar lawn. Each page opens with the one we’d pick for most homes, then says exactly when the other is the better buy.
The verdicts come from the makers’ published figures and the matcher’s rules, never from hands-on testing, and never from who pays us.
