Our take

Fits 2 of our 12 typical homes, the cheapest fit in 2

Roborock's cheapest washing-dock robot, $699 at Roborock Store ANZ against a listed $1,599. In our matcher it is the cheapest fit for a pet-free house of hard floors and rugs, because its mops rise 10 mm: exactly the minimum we set for rugs.

Pick another if your home looks like one of these: 70 m² flat, hard floors, no pets; 80 m² flat, rugs, a pet; 150 m² house, rugs, a pet; and 7 more.

Good for

A household with no animals and a few rugs, on one level or several. Roborock's store says it keeps maps of up to 4 floors, a figure few of the budget models publish, so you can carry it upstairs and it knows where it is. Its 10,000 Pa sits right on the suction floor we use for carpet.

Watch out for

It has no camera, only Roborock's structured-light Reactive Tech, so any pet takes it out of the running. Roborock contradicts itself on drying: one line of its page says room-temperature air, a tag on the same page says warm air, and the store says cold air. We can't count heated drying, so homes of mostly hard floors get it as a near miss. The two warranty figures disagree as well, so ask the store before you buy.

Living with it

This is a stripped-back Qrevo. The dock rinses the two spinning pads but publishes no hot-water wash, there's no detergent tank, and the mop doesn't swing out to skirting boards. You get an all-rubber main brush that Roborock claims never tangles, a bag it rates for 65 days between changes, and 180 minutes of quiet-mode running.

Not published by the maker: dust bag.

  • Roborock's AU page calls its mop drying "room-temperature" in one place and "45°C warm air" in another, and the store says cold-air drying, so we don't count it as heated drying.
  • Warranty: Roborock's AU warranty policy lists 24 months; the store's product page says 12 months.
