Roborock Saros 20

Price and specs checked

Our take

Fits 7 of our 12 typical homes

Roborock's flagship claims 36,000 Pa, washes its pads at 100 °C and climbs a 45 mm first step. Yet in every typical home it suits, the cheaper Saros 10R suits it too, for $550 less, so it never comes first in our matcher.

Pick another if your home looks like one of these: 200 m² two-storey, carpet, a pet; 250 m² two-storey, rugs, heavy shedders; 140 m² two-storey townhouse, hard floors; and 2 more.

Good for

Homes with awkward floors: raised sills, sliding-door tracks and thick rugs. Roborock says its AdaptiLift chassis raises the body over double thresholds and adjusts for deep pile, and it leaves its mop pads at the dock before carpet. Its obstacle camera recognises more than 300 object types, Roborock says.

Watch out for

Like the Saros 10R, it has no published map count, so our matcher can't place it in a multi-storey home. Dreame's Matrix10 Ultra costs the same and does publish one. Roborock's store and Roborock's own pages disagree on its run time and its main brush type.

Living with it

It is low and heavy: 79.8 mm tall, with no turret, and just over five kilograms on Roborock's spec sheet, which matters if you carry it between floors. The dock adds detergent automatically, dries the pads with warm air and holds dust for up to 65 days. Pay the extra over the Saros 10R only if the hotter wash or the bigger climb solves a problem you actually have.
